The German Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai World EXPO is looking for passionate young people to perform as protagonists in the show of the German Pavilion!
 
 
Who are we looking for?
 
5 female Chinese protagonists
•  Age around 18-25 but also depending on the appearance
•  Outgoing and proactive personality
•  Pleasant look, healthy, sporty
•  Have personal charm, can represent today’s Chinese youngsters
•  Good pronunciation of Chinese Mandarin, no local dialect accents
•  Fluent in both Chinese and English
•  Basic German preferred but not mandatory
 
5 male German-looking protagonists
•  Age around 20-25 but also depending on the appearance
•  Outgoing and proactive personality
•  Pleasant look, healthy, sporty, German look preferred
•  Have personal charm, can represent today’s German youngsters
•  Fluent in English and basic Chinese
•  Basic German preferred but not mandatory


 
 


 
What will you do in the German Pavilion?
 
You will perform in a 7-minute show in the final room and highlight of the German Pavilion, for an audience of 600 people per show. You will interact with the audience and be presenters and actors at the same time – and you will do it on kickboards! 

In the performance, you will present our two main characters Yanyan (a Chinese architecture student visiting her friend Jens in Germany) and Jens (a German student of Mechanical Engineering showing his friend Yanyan around during her stay).  

You will be working for two months, according to a pre-scheduled working shift with 3 days of work followed by 1 day off. Total working hours will be within 160 hours per month.
 
For how long will you be hired?
 
We castingn and hiring now for the period of May/June 2010 but will cast again later for July/Aug and Sep/Oct 2010.

What kind of contract will you receive?
 
Upon successful casting, you will sign a two-month freelance contract with Auditoire Shanghai. The freelance contract is a legal form that is in line with the Chinese Legal Law and will cover your visa application if necessary as well as relevant medical and safety insurance.
 
After your first contract finishes, you are welcome to continue working with us for the next period. An evaluation will be conducted two weeks before your contract finishes, to decide whether we will sign another two-month contract with you.
 
How much will you be paid?
 
You will receive a monthly salary of 10.000RMB net plus housing allowance. Details will be discussed at the casting. Rehearsal days will also be paid. 
 
In addition, there will be a ‘gift bonus’ for two protagonists of the whole team on a weekly basis and a ‘cash bonus’ for two protagonists on a monthly basis!
